Job Description:
Position Overview
This position reports directly to the Vice President for Operations
& Development and is primarily responsible for planning,
coordinating, and organizing all development efforts. The role
focuses on building and maintaining relationships with current and
potential donors, managing events, and establishing a consistent
stream of corporate and individual donations. Additionally, the
position coordinates all marketing and communications activities,
including managing digital platforms and developing marketing
tools.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy,
including identifying tools and platforms to support fundraising
efforts.
Prepare and manage budgets and reports for development, marketing,
and communication activities.
Cultivate relationships with individual donors to generate
recurring contributions, intermediate gifts, and major
donations.
Strengthen existing relationships and establish new partnerships
with corporate donors.
Plan, coordinate, and execute all fundraising events, including
managing vendor contracts, event logistics, volunteer committees,
and post-event follow-up.
Identify new fundraising opportunities and propose ideas for events
or initiatives that can generate additional revenue.
Develop and maintain a full suite of marketing materials to support
development and communication objectives.
Support digital marketing efforts for programs, services, and
events.
Create and implement a cohesive marketing strategy that integrates
programs, development, and external communications.
Collaborate with consultants as needed for events or campaigns,
ensuring clearly defined responsibilities and avoiding duplication
of efforts.
Establish and manage a strong presence on social media
platforms.
Develop and maintain consistent branding and messaging across all
communication platforms, including social media, email, and website
content.
Maintain up-to-date media contact lists for distributing press
releases and public service announcements.
Complete other duties as assigned by executive management.
Participate in emergency or disaster response efforts as needed;
tasks will be assigned based on availability and organizational
needs.
Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher required.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in development and event
planning.
At least three (3) years of experience in communications and/or
marketing; an equivalent combination of education and experience
may be considered.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including
proofreading.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet
deadlines under pressure.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a high level
of professionalism.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Access), including mail merge functionality.
Familiarity with social media platforms and email marketing tools
such as Constant Contact.
Must be able to pass a Level 2 background check.
